In piercing material with a single light pulse, a ratio of greater that 100 was attained, especially by means of spatial formatting of femtosecond pulses in the form of non-diffracting Bessel beams. Trials currently under way lead us to believe that a ratio of 200 is attainable.
This new technology can be applied in the telecommunications, automobile, watchmaking or the biomedical fields, from the manufacture of integrated components for modern telecommunications to the inscription of motifs invisible to the naked eye used in the struggle against counterfeiting.
